About Brookvale

Brookvale is a residential area of Basingstoke close to the town centre. There is a variety of housing and the area is known for its Victorian and Edwardian terraces. Brookvale has long been considered to be between Essex Road and the Ring Road (west) inclusive of Essex Road and from Worting Road to Churchill Way including the water works housing.

The Brookvale West Conservation Area

In 1999 part of the area was designated as the Brookvale West Conservation Area by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in recognition of the special architectural and historic interest of the area. More information on the conservation area and what it means for those who live and work in the area can be found here on Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's website.

Brookvale and Kings Furlong Ward Profile

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have prepared a document with an abundance of information and detail about our electoral ward here to see it in a new tab.

The Brookvale House Project

In 1999 Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and the Hampshire Buildings Preservation Trust also undertook the Brookvale House Project which gave information on how to look after the terraces in an environmentally sustainable way. Much of the information issued at the time is relevant today, to download the Brookvale House Project document on this subject, please click here.
