The
Brookvale Lottery
About
the Brookvale Lottery
The Brookvale Lottery was set up in 1976 to help raise
money for the building of our Village Hall.
Today, the lottery raises funds for the day-to-day running and
upkeep of the Hall. The Lottery is
open to residents of Brookvale.
How to play the Brookvale Lottery
The important information!
Three numbers are drawn monthly
for a first, second and third place prize.
1st Prize - £50
2nd Prize - £30
3rd Prize - £20
For more information, read
on...
Please note, these updated
rules of play were adopted on 1st January 2005.
As it is a "members
only" lottery, we have to impose a membership fee of a nominal 10p per
year. The cost of playing is then £1
per month. To save the time of our
valued volunteers, we ask that membership is committed to on a yearly basis
if possible. So if you'd like to
play the lottery, we ask that you pay a renewal of £12.10 for the entire
year (including 12 months play and the yearly membership fee). Subscriptions must be with our Lottery
Agent by no later than 12 midday on the day before the draw. In accordance with UK gambling laws, persons under
the age of 16 may not play the Brookvale Lottery.
The draw is made by Brookvale
residents every month at Committee Meetings or at the regular 3C Coffee
Mornings. At each draw, three
subscriber numbers are drawn. The
first prize is £50, second prize is £30 and third prize is £20 (but the
monthly prize fund will never exceed 50% of the preceding month's lottery
income). Details of the winners are
announced in Blurb and here on the Brookvale website. Prizes will only be paid out or delivered
to the registered member who holds the ticket. If prizes are unclaimed after six months,
they will be returned to the lottery fund.
Any profits or unclaimed prizes
after expenses have been deducted will be spent to further the objectives
of the BCA. Priority of spending lies with the upkeep and development of
the Brookvale Village Hall.
If you would like to help your local Community
Association whilst having some fun in the process (and hopefully winning
some money!), please contact our Lottery Agent.
