Village Hall
At the centre of the
community
The Brookvale Village Hall on Lower Brook Street
was built in 1983 (and later extended in 1987). Since then, it has played an important
role in maintaining the community spirit Brookvale is renowned for. It is a central focal point for the
community, and plays venue to the majority of BCA-organised events. The entire Hall was renovated after an
arson attack destroyed a large part of the building in 1999. The Association is very proud of the
Village Hall; it is one of the best-kept halls in the district and has
played host to many memorable community events.
In addition to it being an important
resource for local residents, the Hall is also hired out to external
groups, organisations and individuals for events ranging from kick-boxing
lessons to parent and toddler groups, adult education lectures to private
parties. The revenue from Hall
bookings goes directly back into funding Brookvale Community Association's
events and running costs.
