Old Brookvale Talk The Village Hall 7^th February 2009 Brookvale residents braved the snow to gather at the hall to hear an informative talk from Debbie Reveall, a speaker from the Basingstoke Heritage Society. We heard about how the area and Basingstoke more generally had developed through the 1800s. Several of our older residents were present and added their memories, particularly of the big houses that used to be in the area. Our thanks go to Debbie. There was also the opportunity to see old photos and displays whilst we had refreshments and purchase books and other items from the Heritage Society. This was a well received event and there is demand to see it repeated, hopefully when there is less snow!
