 Green Fair 2009

Brookvale Village Hall

Saturday 12th September 2009

This was our biggest Green Fair to date, with lots of stall and activities on offer for everyone. It was a good job that we had lovely weather again this year so that we could spread outside the hall!

People could get advice from a lot of the stalls on how to live a greener life style, they could buy green products and many of the stalls had activities for children, like making edible necklaces or learning to play drums (I’m sure that one could be heard far and wide, thanks to the Drum Runners!). There were refreshments from the Fair Trade Café and opportunities to talk to the Councils about your views on the proposed changes to Victory Park using Developer’s money and the proposed green corridor that will run through Brookvale (there will be another chance to comment on this at a meeting in the hall in January).

Competition winners were Tom for the free entry raffle prize, Adam won the nearest number of bottle tops in the recycling bin and Abby won the painting prize yet again!

Thanks go to BAAG, Fair Trade Café, Wikaniko Body Care, Naomi House White Elephant, Parks Volunteers, LETSLINK UK, Battery Vehicle Society, Drum Runners 4 Kidz, Blackwells, Mark Group Energy Consultants, Energy Saving Trust Advice, Hampshire Wildlife Trust, Scouts, Guides, BCOT, Octopus Childrens’ Centre, B&DBC/HCC: LDF, Victory Green, Cycling & Green

Corridor, Postlethwaite’s Age Of Stupid Film & Richard Barnett’s Transition talk. Our thanks also go to all our Volunteers, Providers and Councillors for making this our annual Community event

There will be another Green Fair in 2010 on the 11th September. Hopefully this will be even better still J Well done BCA.
