Welcome to Brookvale - at the heart of Basingstoke, Hampshire

 

This is the website of the Brookvale Community Association, where you can keep up to date with all the news from the local community.

 

There is information about the area, information about the history and running of the Brookvale Community Association (BCA), details of upcoming events, reports from events that have been held, news on planning issues, minutes from committee meetings  and much more.

 

The Lost Toy

 

The Lost ToySunday 21st June 2009 2pm, The Village Hall

 

Join us for Proteus Theatre performance of the Lost Toy. For 3 to 7 year olds. Bring your favourite toy and help Leopold the Leopard find his way home!

Tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for children. You can get tickets by calling Pam on 01256 324313. Tickets will also be on sale at Brookvale toddler group on Monday 15th June.

 

 

 

Brookvale in Bloom

Our friendly local competition has now been launched and it’s time to get your entry in!

 

The themes are water conservation and wildlife friendly. The classes are:

 

·         Small front garden (up to 6ft x 12ft)

·         Standard front garden

·         Hanging basket or window box

·         Children’s tray garden (for age 12 and under)

·         Flower arrangement ‘A Sunny Day’ (for age 13 and over)

 

To enter the competition please send your name, address and class to info@brookvale.org, post c/o The Orchard, Basingstoke RG21 4AF or by phone to Gordon on 01256 465829 or drop in to any committee member. An information pack will be sent by return.

 

The last date for entries is the 10th June, ready for judging of the first 3 classes on the 13th and 14th June. The tray gardens and flower arrangements will be judged at the prize giving event on the 4th July. There is more information on our Brookvale in Bloom homepage.

DIY Workshop for Brookvale

 

Is your front wall crumbling? Does your front path need relaying? Are you looking at new doors or windows? BCA are looking to provide a professional led Saturday workshop on how to restore property in a sympathetic way. The workshop will be provided in conjunction with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Bursledon Brickworks and the Hampshire Buildings Preservation Trust and is planned for the 8th August. There will be a small charge. Email info@brookvale.org.uk to book a place.

 

Friends of Loddon Vale Parks

This group have a packed schedule of events coming up including a family fun day in Victory Park on the 15th August with activities like face painting, Punch and Judy etc. More details to follow!
